By Austin Brewin:
In a very even contest between teams playing different styles, the difference came down to a successful conversion by the visitors. The Peninsula men have several very quick players who made a number of breakaway forays and out ran their support, but did touch down twice for ªunconverted) tries. The SFGG defense was able to stop most of these while playing a more controlled type attack, resulting in 2 first half score. The half ended with a 10 – 10 try. On the restart, Peninsula Green struck first with a try ten minutes into the second half. It was converted. The visitors then lead a see – saw battle only to see the Silver strike again with a terrific try in the last minute of the game. The conversion went wide, and the whistle blew before any more fire works.
