Jason Lynch
Athlete, friend, teammate, native son and “brother”. Jason was a quiet force on the field and always a modest man. He was a national team caliber player but cared more about his club than any self-advancement. From his early days in the Sheriff’s Department his rugby ‘mates’ dubbed him “Deputy Dog” from the Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Jason played from 1991 through most of the 90’s with Golden Gate after getting his start with our youth club, the ‘Outcasts’. He played a season down in New Zealand with the Mid-Northern Club of Going Family fame and was very well regarded in N.Z. as a player. “J” was a guy who let his play and example do the talking and that example was inspirational. He left us too early but the memory and legacy he leaves behind will always be with us.
