![]() SFGG defeated the O Club in the final league game by a score of 55 – 5. The O Club were not at full strength, and once SFGG had a lead our discipline and patience gave way to forcing something spectacular rather than playing a patterned, full team game. My Irish Grandmother referred to this behavior as “Trying to make a dollar out of 29 cents.” T OKUSI opened the scoring at 2 minutes with a try, and ended a good game with his 2nd at 74 minutes. We scored 9 tries over the day (T OKUSI (2), BARRETT, HUIHUI, DALY, VAILALA, HAUPEAKUI, DONALDSON, STEVENS) The score at the half SFGG 24-0. Playing at 7, ISAAC HELU was named Man of the Match for his strong 80 minutes and intelligent game. This Saturday May 6th, we have the final home game for this very talented team playing ORSU AKA Portland Jesters who finished at the top of the ladder in the Northwest division of our current geographic organization. The team is looking forward to playing a new opponent – about which we know very little. Coach NEIL FOOTE is confident that with everybody healthy and playing to our patterns we enter the USA RUGBY Division 1 playoffs in a strong position. We are confident in getting to the next stage – the quarter finals in Tucson on May 21 to face the Austin Blacks on the Saturday and into the semi-finals on Sunday. The finals are to be in Glendale on June 4th. The SFGG Women play the Seattle Mud Hens at Sheeran Field at 10am Saturday in the Women’s Division 2 regional, followed at Noon where Chico meet Eugene in a Division 2 men’s playoff game, followed by the SFGG – ORSU Men's D1 game at 2PM. The final game at 4PM is between Sacramento Blackhawks and the Tacoma Nomads. COME OUT AND SUPPORT OUR TEAMS!! COME OUT AND SEE SOME VERY TALENTED PEOPLE, WELL COACHED, DOING THEIR THING AND YOU WILL BE HIGHLY ENTERTAINED! I GUARANTEE IT AUSTIN
