The Pacific Cup HS Championship has changed it's format from an end of year championship to an early season tournament featuring champions and top programs from the previous season.  The 4th annual installation of this highly competitive tournament will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area and feature local teams playing matches against champions from different regions of the country.  The entire tournament will be streamed on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/rugbyrecruit/ and live tweeted https://twitter.com/Rugby_Scout by RugbyRecruit.
2015 and 2016 Pacific Cup Champion Danville Oaks will headline the local teams along with tournament co-host and Rugby NorCal Premier Division rival San Francisco Golden Gate (SFGG).  Danville finished 2017 ranked #3 while SFGG finished at #24 in the GoffRugbyReport Club Rankings.
Headlining the visiting challengers will be Kahuku HS from the North Shore of Oahu.  Kahuku won the 2017 Pacific Cup by knocking off Danville in impressive fashion.  Kahuku finished the 2017 season ranked #5 among single school programs by FloRugby, but we think they were even better than that.
2017 Southern California Club Champions Irvine Rhinos will look to improve from last season and return most of their top players in 2018.  The Rhinos were impressive at UCLA's Dennis Storer Classic, beating United, Lamorinda, and Mother Lode.  They are led by their captain, scrumhalf and Storer MVP Austin Kikuchi.  The Rhinos finished 2017 ranked #9 in the Club Rankings by FloRugby.
Each team will play two 60 minute games over two days.  Kahuku's B side will also be featured in the action with matches agianst B sides from Danville and SFGG.  Here is the full schedule:

Friday at Wilder Field #2, Orinda
1 pm: Danville vs Kahuku HS
2:15 pm: Danviile B vs Kahuku HS B

Friday at Treasure Island
4 pm: SFGG vs Rhinos

Saturday at Treasure Island
